Early Light

Early Light

In an attempt to pull myself out of a photography rut, I decided to get up early one day and take advantage of the soft light of morning. As an expert in the art of sleeping in, it was rare for me to see and really take in the effects of the morning sun. I was immediately re-energized by the lively and quickly changing light, the patterns created from condensation, the subtle glow of surfaces, and the drama of fog rolling through the landscape. These photos illustrate the solemnity of dawn, the invigoration that kicks in as light begins to dance around after the sunrise, and the beauty of being isolated in nature.
